How to Get a Tourist Visa
Before COVID-19, Canadian citizens could use two primary methods to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa:
- Applying for a tourist visa at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate.
- Applying for a visa on arrival.
Currently, Canadian passport holders can apply for an e-Visa (30 days, single entry), which is considered the simplest option. Visa on arrival and visa at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate are still available, but more complicated.
Applicants can either apply for the e-Visa themselves online or ask for support.

- MAKE PAYMENT: Once the visa application review is complete, a payment link will be sent to your email. After successful payment, your application will be submitted to the Vietnam Immigration Department.
- DOWNLOAD: Once approved, we will send your e-Visa to your email along with detailed instructions.

- Normal: 4-6 working days.

How to Get a Vietnam Business Visa
To apply for a business visa as a Canadian passport holder, a sponsoring company in Vietnam is required. Here’s the two-step process:
Step 1: Obtain the Pre-Approval Letter
Your sponsoring company in Vietnam must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Form NA2 (available online);
- Form NA16 (official documentation for stamps and signatures);
- Notarized business registration of the sponsoring company in Vietnam.
After submitting these documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department, the approval process takes 5-7 working days. Once approved, the sponsoring company will receive the pre-approval letter for your business visa.
Step 2: Pick Up the Business Visa Stamp
You must then get the visa stamped at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in Canada before departing for Vietnam.
