How to Apply for a Vietnam Visa for Indian Passport Holders?
The application process for Indian passport holders depends on the type of visa they require: tourist or business.
How to Apply for a Tourist Visa?
Before COVID, Indian citizens had two main options to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa:
- Apply at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate;
- Apply for a visa on arrival.
Currently, Indian passport holders can apply for an electronic visa (e-visa, 30 days, single entry). This method is considered the easiest way to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa, while applying for a visa on arrival or at the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate is more complex.
How to Apply for an E-Visa:
- Submit Online Application: Provide your passport information page, recent portrait, and fill out the online application form.
- Make Payment: After reviewing your application, we will send a PayPal payment link via email. Once the payment is completed, we will submit your application to the Vietnam Immigration Department.
- Download E-Visa: If your application is approved, we will send the granted e-visa to your email, along with detailed instructions.

How to Apply for a Business Visa?
To apply for a business visa, Indian passport holders will need a sponsor company in Vietnam.
There are two steps to complete the process:
Step 1: Obtain a Pre-Approval Letter
Your sponsor company will need to prepare the following documents:
- NA2 Form (submitted to the Vietnam Immigration Department);
- NA16 Form (Signature and Stamp Official Documentation);
- Notarized Business Registration of the company in Vietnam.
The sponsor company must then submit the documents to the Vietnam Immigration Department, which will take 5-7 working days to process. Once approved, the sponsor company will receive the pre-approval letter.
Step 2: Obtain a Business Visa Stamp
In this step, you must visit the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate in your country to have your business visa stamped before traveling to Vietnam.
