VIETNAM VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS

U.S. citizens who wish to enter Vietnam are required to obtain a valid Vietnamese visa, regardless of the purpose of their visit—whether for tourism or business. The following requirements must be met:

    1. Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Vietnam.
    2. Blank Passport Pages: Your passport must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa stickers and immigration stamps.
    3. Business Visa (if applicable): If you are applying for a business visa, a sponsorship letter from a licensed company in Vietnam is required.
    4. Visa Fee: A visa fee must be paid during the application process.

    Visa on Arrival (Landing Visa)

For many U.S. travelers, the Vietnam visa on arrival (VOA) has become the most popular option due to its convenience, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and time-saving process.

U.S. citizens holding a valid Vietnam visa can enter the country through any of the following international airports:

    • Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi)
    • Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City)
    • Da Nang International Airport
    • Cam Ranh International Airport (Nha Trang)
    • Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong)

How to Apply for a Visa on Arrival:

To obtain a visa on arrival, travelers must first apply online to receive an Approval Letter. Upon arrival at any of the above international airports, you will present this letter to receive the official visa stamp.

Important Note: The visa on arrival is NOT applicable to travelers entering Vietnam via sea or land borders. If you plan to enter Vietnam through these routes, please apply for a visa in advance through the Vietnamese embassy or consulate.
