Vietnam visa for citizens of Ireland

Oct 09, 2024

Irish citizens wishing to visit Vietnam must obtain a valid Vietnamese visa, whether for tourism or business purposes. The following conditions must be met:

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Vietnam.
  • Your passport must have at least 2 blank pages for the visa sticker and immigration stamps.

Option 1: Visa on Arrival (VOA)
Irish citizens can opt for a Vietnam visa on arrival. This method is favored by many travelers due to its ease, affordability, and time-saving nature.

Irish passport holders with a valid Vietnam visa can enter the country through any of the following international airports: Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Saigon), Da Nang, Cam Ranh (Nha Trang), and Cat Bi (Hai Phong).

To use this option, travelers must apply online to obtain an Approval Letter, which they will need to present at the airport in Vietnam to receive the official visa stamp.

Note: Visa on arrival is NOT AVAILABLE for travelers entering Vietnam by sea or land.

Other ways to apply for a Vietnam Visa
As there is currently no Vietnamese Embassy in Ireland, Irish passport holders can apply for a visa through the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in a neighboring country. For more information about visa procedures, fees, and required documents, please contact the relevant embassy or consulate.
